Dont Drink and Drive This Holiday Season

Whenever a holiday rolls around, it is usually a safe bet to assume that many adults will be drinking in some way. There is nothing wrong with enjoying a few beers, or having a glass of wine or two when celebrating with loved ones. However, there is a problem when a person does that, and then decides to get behind the wheel of a vehicle.

Drinking and driving is a very dangerous act. It is one that claims dozens of lives every single day here in the United States. Almost 300,000 people are injured due to drunk driving accidents every single year. That is a number that no one wants to see go up. Yet, people continue to drink and drive.

This is why, as holidays pop up, more DUI checkpoints begin to get set up all over the place. Law enforcement officers are aware that people are more likely to drink and drive around holidays, which is why they set up more checkpoints. They want to catch people before they cause any permanent or lasting damage.

The holidays are all about getting together with loved ones and having a good time. If that is going to involve drinking, then a person needs to have a safe way home set up. This can be accomplished by assigning a designated driver for the night, or by hiring one by getting a taxi, Lyft, or Uber.

There are plenty of ways to get home safely this holiday season, so there is no reason to drink and drive.
